Google wasting time in Q2?
Every year, Google does something silly for April Fools Day. This year they offered to print and ship all of your Gmail, and even touted a free wireless LAN service through your toilet on their home page.
Today, they counterbombed Yahoo by promoting their new “Infinity plus one” unlimited mail storage.
This is all very new and exciting to me, but Google needs to offer more to their audience. In my opinion, Yahoo has really taken the leap over Google. They offer way more services, and it seems that their search engine is earning more respect every day.
I still use Google’s search application over 50 times a day, but I am on the lookout for a friendlier engine. I still think Google will own your soul one day though.
It’s funny to watch Apple sit back in their Cupertino offices and watch all the buzz about their new products. Apple has successfully married hardware and software components, and their marketing power is immense. Who will make big moves in the second quarter of the year?
Joost looks pretty cool too. I have heard some rumors that Michael Arrington’s TechCrunch will be bought out by Rupert Murdoch’s NewsCorp too.
Oh yea, the EMI Music Group just opened up their digital rights umbrella in a deal announced today with Apple. Does this give iTunes customers the official rights to the music?
It’s only April 2nd, and things are changing so fast.
