ESPN’s new Bowl Pick ‘Em Facebook app
Cody Swann, from ESPN.com’s Community Development team, has always been one of the most focused Javascript interaction developers I have ever encountered, so when he sent me a link to his new Facebook app, I was eager to test it out.
You can pick all 32 matchups and even rank them in confidence. As with any viral Facebook app, you can talk smack on your friend’s page. You can also see who picked whom.
I am excited for the first bowls to begin, so I can see how they handle the scoring data. I like the fact that you can easily interact with your friends inside this app. It also displays on your profile really nice:
These guys are using Ruby on Rails, and its working pretty well. I am going through people’s pages and promoting Virginia Tech, and talking general smack to Cody. Try out this app if you like college sports. It’s clean and easy to use.
