The search giant willl shell out $3.1 billion in cash for the Internet’s largest advertising group DoubleClick, according to a press release today.
“It has been our vision to make Internet advertising better–less intrusive, more effective and more useful,” said Sergey Brin, one of Google’s co-founders.

Google wasting time in Q2?
Every year, Google does something silly for April Fools Day. This year they offered to print and ship all of your Gmail, and even touted a free wireless LAN service through your toilet on their home page.
Today, they counterbombed Yahoo by promoting their new “Infinity plus one” unlimited mail storage.
