With the help of their acquisition of SketchUp, a 3-D modeling program, Google aims to get every major college campus into their Earth browser. Students are encouraged to draw their campus–not just a bland, geometric box outline of the buildings, but detailed, photo-matched 3-D visualizations of them.

Microsoft Can Search Better Than Google?
I hate to say this… but Microsoft has better online mapping software than Google. Yesterday, they introduced Virtual Earth 3D, an application that takes photographic images of cities and terrain to generate textured, photo-realistic 3D models with engineering level accuracy.
