When a young kid has to go move in with his grandparents, it’s not always the best fit, but CBS acquiring CNET might just work.

CBS + CNET

The suits at Viacom might know something the market doesn’t. That’s right, the Internet is not getting any smaller. Those old janky television sets are not quite as engaging as this here web browser.

It’s a good fit because until now, CBS really had no Internet mojo. Now we can define it. NBC plus FOX equals hulu. ABC also has a great online presence. So CBS acquiring CNET is kinda like hiring out a really good consultant to teach them what’s hip on the web.

I am excited to be part of this deal. What are your thoughts on this acquisition?

    I hope it all works out well for you folks at CNET Andrew,
    i think it could be a very good fit,as long as CBS keeps their mits off BOL ;)

    Well, I’m not to bothered about CBS taking over CNET, aslong as they leave the podcasts and Cnettv stuff alone (unless they add CBS shows worldwide)

    We shall just have to wait and see what happens in the long run!

    I think it add a lot of geek credibility to CBS, which is sorely needed.

    I guess my only hesitation about this would be if CBS tries to CBS CNET. It would be better if CNET has more influence on CBS than the other way around. I get leery when a big old media sloth like CBS does something like this with a new media company.
